When a client texted a few days back to tell me that she wanted to send me something for Mother’s Day, something touched me deep inside. Half the time, the joy in helping someone is enough. Yes, it may be the weekend, but I felt beyond blessed to “work” this afternoon. The incredibly articulate and intelligent client was ready to take a huge bold step forward to rid herself of unnecessary challenges around food and addictions.

Inspired to post on International Women’s Day. Whenever I am in doubt or feeling lost, I think of this fella and I make choices that I’d feel I could stand by in his cheeky little eyes.
His birth automatically lifted the bar for me, on how I should live and the choices I would make.
I ain’t a perfect being by far, but I constantly try to do better to be a person that he’d be happy and proud to call his mom. And why? Offspring role model so much on their parents. It’s literally monkey see, monkey do, right? Do right by whoever matters to you.

At last night’s dinner, I was given a card with this question.
I chose to celebrate my maternal grandmother. “PoPo” as we called her in Mandarin, was such a strong woman for her time. And with the full support of her husband, they each took on two jobs to raise SEVEN girls, and offer each their full education. This was quite a feat given that the girls were born before WWII, and girls were not valued in that period amongst Chinese families.
PoPo herself was educated, and by insisting that they too be educated, she raised a teacher, a school principal, Singapore’s first chief magistrate, a lawyer and three doctors.
As a child, I never fully understood how significant she was. And that’s why today, I fully celebrate her as a woman, a mother, and a stereotype breaker of her times. ❤️❤️❤️

Had the opportunity to attend a presentation, showcasing the designs of ‘s watches last week.
This finely crafted piece was designed when it wasn’t considered appropriate for women to wear watches - and the female wearer could wear this “bracelet” and flip it open to reveal a secret watch.
Thank you for the beautiful, informative evening.
Grateful at how far we have come as a gender and how times have changed. More to be done.

Many people are scared of being judged for what they might think, have said or done. So as a transformational coach, beyond holding a safe space for clients, I just send them love unconditionally.
