"While big, far-flung organizations still use team building in attempts to improve communication and camaraderie, many who participate end up wishing everyone had just stayed at their desks. In a 2012 survey of more than 1,000 office workers by Wakefield Research, commissioned by Citrix, nearly one-third said they had attended team builders that either weren't in line with company culture or that put employees in embarrassing or uncomfortable situations."

What does Process Facilitation have to do with crafting your company's Unique Value Proposition (UVP)? *A LOT* apparently, according to the following article.
Though we know this from the get-go, this article by Bruce Mayhew is a refreshing affirmation.

If you like to skim, we got you covered - we've listed the the few take-aways from the article :

(1) If you struggle with defining your UVP, so will your potential customers.
(2) Too often an in-house facilitator will start making excuses to a customer, or begin correcting their perceptions. (A cardinal "sin" in process facilitation!)

(3) UVP cannot cover up deficiencies in your business. Neither is it a wish statement, it's what you already are.

(4) The stakeholders and the stake involved are far too important to for an in-house facilitator to gloss over the raw outputs. Get a professional.

(5) If you are trying to facilitate a key question using an internal senior manager or director, customers may feel overwhelmed while employees may not understand what you are doing.

Unique Value Proposition (UVP or USP) is critical to your marketing success. Know and use your UVP to show customers they should choose you. Your sales people will experience greater success by matching your unique value proposition to a clients needs.
