A team that isn’t afraid of pushing beyond limits, SMUDB is a bonafide family of dedicated students from Singapore Management University (SMU). Since our humble beginnings in 2005 with only 10 paddlers, Team SMUDB today is fresh new team of over 50 paddlers. With a history of consistent podium finishes, SMUDB continues to mature and strengthen, establishing itself as a competitive tertiary team an
d one to watch in the dragon boat fraternity in both local and overseas races. Paddle to paddle we stand in camaraderie, with a common goal of winning and raising the SMU banner. Besides competing out of school, SMUDB has also been a loyal supporter of school events such as the annual Runabout, Tug-of-War, Gravical and Tri-Challenge, often coming in top honours. Besides being a competitive team, SMUDB also organises high quality events that were commended for its professionalism by co-organisers and participants. Prior to the collaboration with SAVA for MR500 (2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011), an annual national dragon boat and canoe race, SMUDB organised 4 inter-school races and various SMU events. Apart from these activities, SMUDB is constantly reaching out to introduce the sport to the campus community by organising clinics and try-outs regularly.
