Asgard Fencing Club Asgard was founded by the top Sabre fencers and coaches in Singapore and has since produced Singapore's only World Champion in history.

Asgard was founded by former national fencer David Chan together with members of the national team to work towards the development of the fencing scene in Singapore. Here, we believe in the unique development of each individual, utilizing a special blend of training methodologies, rigorous discipline, critical analysis, character building and personal mentorship. Since then we have successfully created champions in every age category, and are proud to call ourselves home to the only Singaporean World Champion as well! However we believe in coaching that goes above and beyond simple results, and our coaches are committed to providing students with the skills to tackle problems both on and off the piste. At just 14 years old, Shuhan finished the 2025-26 fencing season as FIE Cadet Women’s Sabre World No. 1!

And what an amazing season it has been:

These results are nothing short of remarkable, and a testament not only to Shuhan’s immense talent, but her incredible work ethic and dedication as well. We’re so excited to see where the next few years take her!

3 out of 4 medals for our girls at the Senior Trials over the weekend! Shuhan stayed sharp and fenced extremely well the whole day, taking home the Gold medal!🥇

We also have a newly-minted Senior medallist, with Grace taking Bronze at just 13 years old, what a remarkable feat!

And shoutout to Christine for making her way back onto the podium, after returning from her injury!

Our fencers did a great job at the Singapore Junior Trials 2 over the weekend! Nicki brought home a well-deserved Silver medal🥈 in the Women’s Sabre category, and Shane and Cameron (SSP/Alumnus) won the Bronze medals in the Men’s Sabre category. Huge congratulations to our medallists!

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our special guests, Coach Gianluca Filippi Gianluca Filippi and World Junior Bronze Medallist Vittoria Mocci .mocci, to lead our International Camp! It was certainly a great experience for all of the fencers, full of new learnings, challenges, and lots of fun!

A huge thank you to Coach Gianluca and Vittoria, as well as our very own World Cadet Silver Medallist Shuhan, for the making the camp such a success! We hope to see you guys again soon!
