Sadness is a part-time employee. It clocks in after a disappointment, a harsh comment, a failed interview, or the loss of something dear. It works its shift, drains your energy, and eventually goes home. Sometimes it even takes annual leave.
Sorrow, however, is a full-time employee. It never resigns.
Most of us think sadness and sorrow are the same thing. Vedānta politely disagrees.
