Singapore Short Track Speed Skating

Singapore Short Track Speed Skating We are Singapore’s community for Short Track Speed Skating with recreational & competitive skaters. We are coached by Olympic Champion Chun Lee Kyung.

As the country's youngest winter sport, Singapore Short Track Speed Skating is proud to have been able to send athletes to regional and international competitions these past five years. We are a growing, dedicated and hardworking group of athletes working towards creating awareness about this winter sport, with the ultimate goal of sending a team to the Winter Olympics. Members (ranging from age 7

-30) of the Singapore Short Track Speed Skating club/national/national development team train 2 times a week (3 hours total) at The Rink @ JCube, and 2 times a week at Evans Road sports stadium. Our Learn to Skate program is taught by SEA Games medalists and current/former members of the National Team. 🥈- Women's 3000m Relay - Alyssa Pok, Amelia Chua, Chloe Luai, Loh Yu Qin
🥉- Mixed 2000m Relay - Alyssa Pok, Brandon Pok, Chloe Luai, Ryo Ong

SILVER for Team Singapore’s Ryo Ong Yik in the Men’s Short Track Speed Skating 500m Final! ⛸️🇸🇬🥈

Ryo powered through the final, clocking 43.592s to finish 2nd out of 12 and claim the Silver medal! 💥👏

Team Singapore skates to SILVER and a NEW NATIONAL RECORD! 🇸🇬⛸️🥈

Amelia Rae-Lene Chua, Chloe Luai Shan Han, Loh Geok Qin (Luo Yu Qin), Pok Jing Ying Alyssa clocked 4:49.013, finishing 2nd out of 4 to secure the SILVER medal and set a new National Record in the process! 💥👏

The team of Chloe Luai Shan Han, Alyssa Pok Jing Ying, Brandon Pok Yan Kai and Ryo Ong Yik clocked 2:58.600 to finish 3rd out of 5, securing the BRONZE medal for Singapore! 💪❄️

At the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin 2025, Alyssa Pok and Brandon Pok made it to the Final B of the 1000m and 1500m events, respectively, with 4th-place finishes. Alyssa achieved a rank of 9th in Asia for her 1000m, while Brandon ranked 11th in Asia for his 1500m. The Mixed Relay team, comprising Amelia Chua, Ryo Ong, Alyssa, and Brandon also reached the Final B, finishing in 2nd place with a rank of 6th in Asia and even broke the National Record. Alyssa also set a personal best twice in her 1000m event. Congratulations to Team Singapore Short Track Speed Skaters!!!

Singapore skaters Alyssa Pok, Brandon Pok, Ryo Ong competed at the 2024 ISU Short Track World Tour held in Seoul 13-15 Dec.

Alyssa improved on her 1000m PB last month, with a new personal record. All 3 skaters achieved the minimum qualifying time requirement for the 2025 SEA Games. Congratulations 🎉 . This wraps up the competitions this calendar. Till next year, have a great holiday season and Happy New Year! 😊

Singapore skaters Alyssa Pok and Brandon Pok competed at the Canadian Invitational Elite #2 at Montreal, from 6-8 Dec.

Brandon clocked a new personal record for 1500m. Alyssa made it to 500m Final A for Group B. Alyssa and Brandon also achieved the 1500m qualifying requirement for the 2025 SEA Games.
