National Ice Hockey League Singapore

National Ice Hockey League Singapore The former national league which commenced in January 2001, and ended with the closure of our rink in July 2023.

Founders were Greg Blakney, Matt Wheeler, Darcy McColl and Peter Diermayer. We then created the national association which commenced in 2006.

We mourn the loss of one of the founders if ice hockey in Singapore. An early founder of the Singapore Ice Dragons which continue to exist, and regular ice shinny, which then led to the creation of this league 5 years later, and then the national association to follow. He also was the inaugural captain of the Rusty Blades, an infamous regional ice hockey powerhouse.
