Asian Golf Luminary Kyi Hla Han, Launches Much Anticipated Design Firm. Former Volvo Champion and Asian Order of Merit winner, Kyi Hla Han is pleased to announce the formation of Kyi Hla Han Golf. Having reached the pinnacle of Asian professional golf and spending a lifetime enmeshed in the sport both as a player and successful businessman, he now initiates his long planned debut into a golf design business. After significant design roles on several projects he now takes his passion to the level of full-fledged design firm. From his Base in Singapore, Kyi Hla has commissioned the services of Sam Sakocius and his company Qualitas Project Control to assemble and administer his expert technical support team Sam is renowned as a global expert in all aspects of golf development, specializing in technical aspects of golf functionality and also lives full time in Southeast Asia. He is responsible for design feasibility, efficiency, and technical soundness of plan production and implementation. A Kyi Hla Han designed project will generate immediate interest and respect anywhere in SE Asia. The fact that he was recently named by Reuters as the seventh most influential person in Asian Sports supports the potency of his brand. Beyond the power of his signature status, his sensitive approach and incomparable international experience as a player is what sets his design philosophy apart. In addition to all important strategy and routing, Kyi Hla Han believes golf should be visually interesting, even breath taking whenever possible. Kyi Hla Han (born 13 February 1961) is a former professional golfer from Myanmar and the current executive chairman of the Asian Tour. Kyi Hla is the only Asian Signature Designer currently active in Asia. He recorded his first professional win at the 1983 Malaysian PGA Championship. He played on the Asian Tour from its debut season in 1995 until 2004. In 1999 he was the top money winner on the tour and that year he collected his only win in an official money Asian Tour tournament at the Volvo China Open. As of 2006 he was appointed Chairman of the Asian Tour, upon the tour having been reconstituted in 2004 after having been taken over by the players themselves.
