There are some people you coach who end up teaching you far more than you ever taught them 🙏🏽
Years ago, I had the privilage of coaching Dr. Aaron Beck, globally recognized as the father of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Even though, Dr. Beck by then had a hip replacement surgery and was in his mid 80's, he used to come to the court couple of times keen to learn and improve his game.
After one of our sessions, he gifted me this book 'Prisoners of Hate' authored by him.
One of the lessons that has stayed with me for years is that we don't react to events, but we react to our interpretation of them.
Anger begins not with reality but with the stories we create around it.
If its on the tennis court or daily lives, we have a choice as to how we frame our reality.
Grateful for the conversations, lessons and this book. Your work has helped millions understand the human mind 🙏🏽
