Leeds 2-4 Manchester United
Manchester United are once again the team to catch. Time was, that would be said of players at the top of the table. Now it is fourth place that commands the attention of the Premier League’s biggest club.
Still it is theirs to lose after this. Others such as Arsenal and Tottenham have games in hand, but they need to be won, and four points now separate United and the team in fifth, West Ham.
This was a huge win, given the red-blooded, red mist, emotion of a trip across the Pennines. There was also the small matter of a two-goal lead, first surrendered, then regained. Leeds’ goals were scored in a 59-second period and while that lapse will displease Ralf Rangnick, the way Manchester United battled their way back into the game and then won it, is a significant positive.
