Badminton Lifting Technique

How to do a lifting shot in badminton (with footwork)

Standard footwork
1) Take a slight "Split step" preferably in the direction that you are moving
2) Take two steps, left leg then right leg, and land ending with your right leg with the knee bent
3) At the same time as you land, do a lift shot

How to do a forehand "Lift shot"
1) pulll back your racket
2) Swing your racket forward, and using your wrist to flick the shuttle in the directtion u want it to go
3) end your racket hand at your shoulder

How to do a backhand "Lift shot"
1)Put your racket at the backhand side
2)pull back slightly
3)Swing in the direction you want the shuttle to go using a quick wrist movement and your forearm
4) Make sure the swing is in a straight motion

Forehand grip:
1) Imagine greeting your racket with a handshake. Your hand naturally forms a 'V' shape between your thumb and index finger.
2) Position your hand so the racket frame isn't flat, but vertical.
3) With your racket in the handshake position, ensure your wrist and forearm are facing outwards
4) Swing your racket straight with your wrist and forearm

Backhand grip:
1) Place your thumb firmly on the wider surface of the grip.
2) Keep the racket frame flat
3) Swing straight with your wrist and forearm

Changing from forehand to backhand grip:
1)Switch your hand anticlockwise to shift from forehand to backhand
Note: Opposite direction for left-handers

Changing from backhand to forehand:
2)Switch your hand clockwise for backhand to forehand.
Note: Opposite direction for left-handers
