In the spring of 2007 a gang of roller derby enthusiasts gathered. They wanted to start Sweden's first roller derby league, but since they'd never stood on a pair of roller skates and didn't have anywhere to practice, the parking lots of Stockholm became their regular practice grounds. Time passed and after a while there were only 4 girls left who still loved this sport more than anything. Not det
erred by the drop-outs, they officially formed Stockholm Roller Derby in December 2008. Slowly word started spreading and one year later member applications suddenly exploded. The league went from 4 to 40 members in a couple of months. Now we happily boast with three lovely teams: STRD Allstars, BSTRDs and C-Stars, plus our huge group of Juniors! FAQ

- Don't identify as a woman but still want to skate and/or help out? Anyone is welcome to help out as a volunteer and official. An individual who identifies as a trans woman, intersex woman, and/or gender expansive may skate with STRD if women’s flat track roller derby is the version and composition of roller derby with which they most closely identify.
