Sodwana Bay is one of those scuba diving destinations that you have to keep your head on a swivel.

As beautiful as the reef is, if you don't keep looking all around you then who knows what your going to miss.

Every dive trip unfortunately ends with that last degassing day before flying back home.

It's a day us divers get to explore the local culture a bit more. Discover what's above the surface in the places we visit.

This is your degas day in Palermo.

Palermo's most famous and oldest street market is Ballarò, known for its lively, chaotic atmosphere and incredible local street food.

It's definitely worth a visit.

This isn't sit on a sand patch, watching someone feed sharks diving.

No feeding, no cage, no feeling like your just watching a show.

We are in Blue water surrounded by these amazing animals and we have no idea who is going to show up.

Oceanic Black Tip, Tiger, Bull, Hammerhead, Tiger, Great White.

This is Shark Diving the way it's meant to be.

A recap of our recent fact finding dive trip to Ustica Island and Sicily, Italy.

We will definitely be putting a group trip back to this beautiful part of the world.

You couldn't find two more different island vibes.

Ustica - Chilled, quiet. Sunday afternoon all day and every day kinda place.
Palermo- Hustle, bustle, colorful and full of life.

But to be honest the true reason for going was to see under the surface and it did not disappoint. Beautiful, relaxed diving. Warm, blue water. Lots of fish and a very cool crew who showed us a round.

That and evenings spent exploring on land while sipping cheap cocktails. Sounds like the perfect dive trip to us.
