🇸🇪 RACE WEEK 🇸🇪

FINAL ROUND: 2025 NAF1000 SERIES

Deven Lewis Grabko is behind the wheel of a purebred racing machine one last time in 2025 for the 7th and final round of the Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Series.

Time to go out and enjoy one last race weekend, savoring the moments on and off the track as the long dark Swedish Winter approaches fast!

One of Sweden’s classic race tracks is the venue, Falkenberg Motorbana, another circuit whose track layout looks deceptively simple on paper, but is decidedly more complex in reality.

Deven will be pushing for a positive end to what has been a very eventful and educational season as he completes his rookie season in single seater racing.

With a record starting grid of 23 cars and a single day schedule for free practice, qualifying, and all 3 races, it is going to be an action packed Saturday!

Follow all the action live on the Series’ official YouTube channel, with live timing at www.raceresults.se.

Round 6 - Ring Djursland - Race Day 2

Sunday proved to be no respite for our young racing driver as misfortune continued to hound Deven, leaving him wondering what it is he has to do to catch a break.

Race 2 | P11 —> P15
The starting light procedure malfunctioned, restarting after a single red light had already been lit up. This caused 2 cars to false start, but the rest of the field got away cleanly. Deven got a good start, was up a position and gaining on those ahead coming out of turn 1. However, race control decided to do a complete restart and red flagged the race. As the P8 car came over the crest into turn 2 he reacted and hit the brakes. All the cars behind were still racing full on, unsighted. P9 ahead of Deven slammed into P8, and Deven slammed into P9. P11 behind then smacked Deven from the rear, spinning him around and sending him into the grass sideways into a huge iron beam, that cracked his front left wheel. Race effectively over. Deven took the restart, but came immediately into the pits, and had his wheel changed. He was 3 laps down when he rejoined the race.

Race 3 | P11 —> P9
A race of attrition. Everyone was going for it in the final race of the weekend. Good start keeping position and after few laps of racing, found himself in a scrap for what would have been P8. Spun in turn 2 when taken by surprise by some defensive early braking, but managed to salvage P9 with some good pace after the incident.

Overall an extremely challenging weekend where mechanical issues, continued misfortune, and not quite finding the front running pace contributed to disappointing results. Now a long pause before the final round in late September in Falkenberg. Time to reflect and recharge before going out for the last race of the season.

Round 6 - Djursland Ring - Race Day 1

It was a day that started out with mechanical trouble that put Deven on the back foot going into the points scoring sessions.

Free Practice | P14
Heading out of the pit full of energy and high hopes, Deven found himself fighting the car as the throttle was stuck, making braking and rotating the car extremely difficult. As such he was never able to push and get a real feel for the track, making it essenstially a throw away session.

Qualifying | P12
Pace improving immediately, Deven’s progress was cut short as the red flags came out, and Deven’s fastest lap to that point, which would have had him P7 at the time, was not counted, and as all the cars came out of the pit, the track position shuffle left Deven in a difficult position. Jossling for position almost every lap meant he only got a couple of clean laps, and it was not enough to get into a good rhythm, and valuable time was lost. Onlly P12 in the end.

Race 1 | P12 —> P11
A decent start saw Deven get a fine get away, but he couldn’t find the ultimate pace on the track, got caught in lower midfield battle for position, and ultimately was only able to move up one spot.

Tomorrow’s races 2 and 3 will be opportunities for Deven to bounce back and march back into the top 10.

🇩🇰🇸🇪 RACE WEEK 🇸🇪🇩🇰

ROUND 6 - Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Series!

It is already time for the penultimate round of the Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Series as the season begins its final phase in earnest.

After mechanical gremlins that had plagued him all season long were finally figured out, and Deven had a fully functional car beneath him, the young driver was able to show glimpses of his true speed, grabbing P6 in Qualifying for Round 5 of the Championship last time out at the Kinnekulle Ring.

Unfortunately incidents and circumstances out of his control prevented him from capitalising on his pace after some excellent drives up through the field, and the multiple champion was not able to claim points in any of the races, dropping him out of contention in the standings.

The final 2 rounds of the season are now all about maximising results and gaining experience near the front of the field.

Ring Djursland is a technically demanding track despite its length and corner layout. Much like the Kinnekulle Ring, undulating elevation and camber changes easily catch out unwary drivers, so it should suit Deven very well.

🇸🇪 Swedish Karting Championship 🇸🇪

Deven Lewis Grabko waves goodbye to karting for the foreseeable future after putting in a stunning performance.

The young talent put it all out there, only having driven 1 karting race weekend in all of 2025, and was immediately lighting up the time sheets.

From the beginning of open test days, to the official practice sessions, qualifying, heats, and the all deciding final, Big Dev was the benchmark.

Fastest driver on track in all but 2 sessions he drove in throughout the entire event, his heat win was the largest margin of victory in class at the checkered flag during the race weekend.

To win a championship you not only have to be fast, but all circumstances have to fall into place. There can be no mistakes, and there can be no misfortune.

One moment of indecision in heat 3, and a dash of misfortune in the Final cost him the chance to fight for victory, but his results speak for themselves:

Free Practice 1: P1 Group, P5 Overall
Free Practice 2: P1 Group, P1 Overall
Free Practice 3: P1 Group, P1 Overall
Free Practice 4: P1 Group, P2 Overall
Qualifying: P1 Group, P2 Overall
Warm Up Heats Day: P1, Group, P1 Overall
Heat 1: P1 —> P3, Fastest lap
Heat 2: P1 —> P1, Largest margin of victory
Heat 3: P2 —> P18, Fastest lap
Warm Up Finals Day: P1 Group, P2 Overall
Final: P8 —> P4

🎙️ Deven Lewis Grabko, “I am going to miss this so much. Lifelong memories and friends. Too many people to thank, please don’t be angry if I forget anyone. AD Motorsport, Energy Corse, KR Sport, Alex, Kevin, Freddy, Huge, Maximus, Mick… Sponsors and partners - Brunbergs, RacingTime.se, Freem Sweden, Minardi. It’s all been so amazing and I am just sorry I couldn’t bring home the big prize for you all - we definitely had a look though, bro… definitely had a look!”

FINALS DAY

Deven put in a stellar drive, but it just wasn’t meant to be as circumstances did not go his way, leaving him to reflect on what could have been.

FINAL | P8 —> P4

Starting from the outside on row 4 was always going to be a lottery, and Deven would need fortune to shine on him. But when the pole sitter made a timid start down into turn 1 with 35 other drivers breathing fire down his neck, it was never going to end well.

It was a train wreck - a huge crash that took out more than 10 karts, all happening right in front of Deven.

He somehow managed to react, slamming the brakes and swerving out wide instinctively, avoiding everything, but after driving around the carnage, found himself in P10.

Only 2 positions lost, but the damage was done. The leaders were up the road and unless the crash resulted in a red flag or a slow procedure, not even our man Deven was fast enough to fight back through the field AND catch the leaders. But he had to try.

Lap after lap he carved his way up through the field. He was on a tear, but the top 3 had broken away and were not fighting at all, while Deven had to make overtake after overtake to continue his chase.

Finally he broke free into P4 but there were only 5 laps to go and still over a 4 second gap to the final podium spot. He closed the gap little by little every lap but it was not enough and he took the checkered flag one position off the podium.

Grabko was the fastest driver on track in every single session he drove in all weekend but 2, and he took the weekend’s largest margin of victory in his class. All with only having driven a single solitary karting race weekend in 2025 coming into the Championship.
