Yesterday evening we went out for a short warmup-training with team A, only 10 kilometers this time. Sometimes it's not the distance that matters it's just to get out and enjoy the life...

Hier soir, nous avons fait une petite sortie avec l'équipe A, de seulement 10 kilomètres cette fois. Parfois, ce n'est pas la distance qui compte, c'est juste de sortir et de profiter de la vie

A training day is always a good day

The fact that we are training our dogs during summer is a full conscious choice 👍
We are making our own experience and we are also being supported by musher with more than 40 years of experience with dogs. Just in our village, we are 4 musher training their dogs during summer time.
We know which dog to train in warmer conditions and which one not to take with us. We have a procedure with cooling them down before, during and after training.
For us it wouldn't feel good at all to see our dog not doing anything during all summer month. They had a break for about 6 weeks and it's more than enough! We love to see them happy, going out and doing what they love!

Le fait que nous entraînions nos chiens pendant l'été est un choix pleinement conscient 👍
Nous nous faisons notre propre expérience et nous sommes également soutenus par un musher qui a plus de 40 ans d'expérience avec les chiens polaires. Rien que dans notre village, nous sommes 4 mushers entraînant nos chiens pendant l'été.
Nous savons quel chien entraîner dans des températures plus chaudes et lesquels ne pas emmener avec nous. Nous avons une procédure pour les rafraichir avant, pendant et après l'entraînement.
Pour nous, ce n'est pas du tout pensable de laisser nos chiens à rien faire pendant tous les mois d'été. Nous aimons les voir heureux, sortir et faire ce qu'ils aiment !

This picture (taken during training's departure) reflects really well those two dogs personality!
Balder (on the right side) is a wild one! A great lead dog besides a little lack of maturity and craziness. He is still learning but show great abilities. He is fast to respond to command and take all his buddies with him.
Sisu (black dog on the left) is a very stable dog. He is not as crazy as the others, he is very calm in all situations and has a lot of self control. But when he works, he is an unstoppable strong machine! He doesn't take any s**t and will not hesitate to tell Balder off when he gets too annoying with his screaming 🤣 which can provoke a quite impressing scene but it's their way of communicating and to some extend, it's important to let them tell each other off and find their place in the pack and not interfere every time.

Cette photo (prise au départ de l'entrainement) reflète très bien la personnalité de ces deux chiens !
Balder (à droite) est un foufou ! Un super chien de tête malgré son petit manque de maturité. Il apprend encore mais montre de grandes capacités. Il répond rapidement aux commandes et emmène tous les chiens derrières avec lui.
Sisu (chien noir à gauche) est un chien très stable. Il n'est pas aussi fou que les autres, il est très calme dans toutes les situations et a beaucoup de maîtrise de soi. Mais quand il travaille, c'est une machine puissante et imparable ! Il n'hésitera pas à dire à Balder quand il devient trop ennuyeux avec ses cris 🤣 ce qui peut provoquer une scène assez impressionnante mais c'est leur façon de communiquer et dans une certaine mesure, il est important de les laisser regler leur problème et trouver leur place dans la meute sans intervenir.
