Rise early and tackle Mount Muhabura, the 4,127m giant on Rwanda’s border with Uganda. This is the steepest and most rewarding of the Virunga volcanoes – raw, quiet, and wild.

*What to expect:*
1. *The Trail*: 6-8 hours round trip through forest, giant lobelia, and rocky alpine terrain. Steep in parts, but every switchback opens up bigger views.
2. *The Summit*: Stand at the crater rim where Rwanda meets Uganda. On clear days you see all 8 Virunga volcanoes, Lake Edward, and the Bwindi forest canopy.
3. *The Wildlife*: Spot golden monkeys, buffalo tracks, and unique alpine birds. Less crowded than Karisimbi, so it feels like your own mountain.

PRIMATE LEGACY 😁
Conquered a volcano in the mighty Virunga Mountains like it owed me money 😌🌋. The slopes tried to humble me, but I remembered I’m built different. Somewhere between “this is easy” and “who sent me?”, I found my main character energy. 10/10 views, 5/10 oxygen, 100/10 confidence. Rwanda said “Land of a Thousand Hills,” and I accepted the challenge personally. If climbing a volcano doesn’t prove I’m unstoppable, I don’t know what does. Next stop: even higher. 💪🔥😁😁
