For two decades, DMT has been active in the field of designing and manufacturing of marine winches and naval equipment. As a specialized supplier of Towing Winches and Mooring Systems, robustness and reliability are the key elements in all of our equipment. All DMT winches are 100% in-house engineered at our ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004, 18001:2007 certified head office in Europe. The vast majority is built on custom basis and according to the requirements of Naval Class Societies like DNV-GL, BV, LR, RMRS and RINA. By maintaining close dialogues with clients, we are COMMITTED to find technical solutions, with the dedication to deliver them as TURN-KEY PROJECTS. We are proud to have earned a reputation among shipbuilders and fleet operators around the world as a supplier of robust and reliable equipment. Our business activities can be divided in five categories:

WINCHES - The 100% custom designed DMT winches, are built to withstand the harshest marine conditions and comply with the most stringent performance criteria in any desired configuration. DECK EQUIPMENT - Besides the main activity, winch production, DMT offers a wide range of Mooring Equipment like Chocks, Warping Rollers, (double) Bollards and Fairleads. OFFSHORE SOLUTIONS - DMT Offshore Solutions combine our top quality winches with state of the art monitoring and control systems. Delivered on a turnkey basis we provide complete mooring systems offshore companies can rely on. MEGA YACHTS EQUIPMENT - Our products are elegant and compliment any decks they are fitted on with state-of-the-art designs and smooth finishing. They are designed and executed according to client requests and under the rules of any Classification Society Requirements

Meet Cosmin, Head of Automation Department, part of our team in Romania.

“I joined DMT Marine Equipment in 2017, the same year the Electrical Department was born. Coincidence? I’d like to think not.
Since then, I’ve spent my days doing what I genuinely love: making machines do exactly what they’re told.

Over the years, I’ve programmed PLCs, written control logic, developed and improved control systems and stood on shipyard decks around the world watching systems I helped build come to life. That’s something that never really gets old.

In 2020, DMT took the next step and started the Automation Department. What began as a new direction has grown into a team of 16 talented, sharp and dedicated engineers, working on everything from winch control systems to advanced HMI interfaces.

Nine years in, I’m still as excited about this work as I was on day one. The projects are bigger, the challenges are more complex and the team is stronger.
And that’s exactly what makes life at DMT so interesting.”

From writing the logic behind a system to seeing it perform for the first time on board, automation is about turning complexity into something that works reliably, precisely and intelligently.
This is one of those stories.

Un proiect bun începe cu oameni care știu să pună lucrurile în ordine. 😊

În spatele echipamentelor pe care le producem și al proiectelor la care lucrăm sunt oameni care se asigură că și lucrurile mai puțin vizibile sunt bine făcute.

Pentru că, atunci când fiecare detaliu contează, organizarea, atenția și responsabilitatea fac diferența. Iar partea juridică și administrativă are un rol important în acest proces, de la documentație și proceduri până la proiecte de investiții și finanțări europene.

Pentru a susține această parte importantă a proiectelor noastre, căutăm un Specialist Juridic Administrativ care să se alăture echipei și să ofere suport în proiectele cu finanțare europeană.

Meet Marian, Head of Project Management Department, part of our team in Romania.

"When I joined DMT in 2006, it was already a well-established company, built by a visionary team. I'll never forget the warm welcome I received. Back then, we worked from two interconnected apartments, focusing on in-house design while manufacturing was outsourced.

Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come. What began with in-house engineering and outsourced manufacturing has evolved into a fully integrated operation. Today, DMT can manufacture every component of a winch in-house, a major milestone that reflects 25 years of continuous growth, investment, and the dedication of the people who made it possible.

Twenty years in the same company seems like ages for the new generations as they are more flexible to change jobs every few years. But how can you leave something that is growing together with you?

Every day, in DMT, I had the chance to do work I enjoy, the kind of work that challenges me and pushes me to grow.
From the apartment on Melodiei Street, where we used to wait each morning for someone to open the office, to the villa in Vadul Sacalelor with its uneven floors, and later to our current headquarters, DMT has continuously changed.

And with it, my work has changed too. Each stage brought something new: different challenges, new ways of working, new people, and constant opportunities to learn. Looking back, it honestly feels like I’ve worked in twenty different companies over time.

When I joined in, HR couldn't find the Project Manager title in the official job classifications so, for administrative purposes, we were registered as Program Directors. I still remember laughing with my colleague Catalin, who had a PRO TV hoodie at the time, that with job titles like ours we practically sounded like we worked in television. 😂

Over time, both the role and the people around it have evolved. Today, I look with pride at how others admire DMT’s Project Management team."

"From the very beginning, I was welcomed with a big warm heart, which made it easier to adapt and find my place.

At first, I had a lot of questions and challenges to figure out. I remember struggling with an algorithm and asking for help. We worked through it together, step by step, until we found the solution. Moments like that helped me understand not just how things work, but how problems are approached and solved.

Over time, things started to make more sense. And at some point, I found myself in the position of helping others with similar challenges.

That shift from asking questions to contributing with answers is what made me feel that I had truly become part of the team.”

Șase luni mai târziu, David încheie un internship care s-a dovedit a fi despre mult mai mult decât marketing.

Da, a învățat despre fotografie, video, editare și content. Dar, mai presus de toate, a descoperit că marketingul nu înseamnă doar creativitate și instrumente de lucru. Înseamnă curiozitate, încredere și oameni care aleg, zi de zi, să împărtășească din ceea ce știu.

Pentru că cele mai valoroase lecții nu se învață dintr-un tool, ci de la oamenii de lângă tine. Din feedback, din răbdare și din încrederea pe care cineva o are în tine chiar înainte să o ai tu.

Asta înseamnă, pentru noi, un internship valoros: un mediu în care întrebările sunt încurajate, curiozitatea este apreciată, iar oamenii își fac timp să împărtășească din ceea ce știu.

David, ne bucurăm că ai făcut parte din povestea noastră. Iar dacă standardul pe care îl iei cu tine este despre oameni care inspiră, împărtășesc din ceea ce știu și îi ajută pe ceilalți să crească, atunci știm că am făcut ceva bine. 💚

În ultimele săptămâni am vorbit mult despre cei 25 de ani ai DMT și despre oamenii, proiectele și momentele care ne-au adus până aici.

La Gala Excelenței în Educație ne-am bucurat însă să privim înainte. Spre tineri care sunt abia la început de drum, dar care au deja în ei ambiția, curiozitatea și perseverența de a face lucruri remarcabile.

Poate că printre ei se află viitorii ingineri, cei care vor proiecta și construi tehnologii noi, sau oameni care vor găsi soluții la provocările de mâine. Indiferent de drumul pe care îl vor alege, fiecare poveste mare începe cu un prim pas și cu oameni care cred în ei.

Felicitări, copii! Vă dorim să aveți încredere în propriul drum și să nu încetați niciodată să învățați, să descoperiți și să visați. 💚

Some projects don’t allow us to share the vessel. They do allow us to reveal the thinking that shaped the solution.

A complete pulling solution is now on its way to an FLNG vessel, consisting of two 600 kN Pulling Winches, each paired with its own dedicated hydraulic power system and electric control system.

Delivering pulling force is only part of the job. The real challenge lies in making every component to perform as one integrated system, ensuring the reliability, responsiveness and control that demanding applications require.

We can’t tell you where it will operate. We can, however, tell you that every detail was engineered with one thing in mind: reliable offshore performance. 😊
