🎺 Swing Dance Camp in Bulgaria this week? 🌊

We will be facilitating 2 workshops during Summer Swing Dance Camp in Bulgaria, at Kamchia resort, taking place between 3-7 September, at the seaside ☀️

This is an event thought of as connecting communities from Eastern Europe and beyond, with international facilitators from Slovenia, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania

There will be daily classes, live music every night, beach activities and a lot of swimming 🌊

Aaand you can still spontaneously decide to join the camp - there are still spots left and a group of 10 people is joining from Bucharest ✨ Link in bio to the event’s website

Here is a sample of schedule of a camp day:

08:30–09:00 – Outdoor morning activity
09:00–10:00 – Breakfast
10:30–12:00 – Classes
12:00–13:00 – Lunch
13:00–16:00 – Free time
16:00–16:45 – Beach games
17:00–18:00 – Classes
18:00–19:00 – Classes
19:00–20:00 – Dinner
21:00–03:00 – Party

Soooo 🥳 as we are close to getting back to regular activity in September and approaching a new dancing season, we will leave here this fantastic piece of news to get the spirits prepared 🐦‍🔥✨

We are absolutely thrilled ❤️ to have Clàudia Fonte in Bucharest for our next dive&blossom Intensive Weekend — so shout out for all solo jazz and lindy hop lovers in town, save the date in your calendar, don’t make plans for that weekend and stay tuned for the rest of the info, which is coming real soon!

About Clàudia ✨

Having swing music as her main source of inspiration, she embraces diverse, playful ways to develop herself as a human being while connecting to the jazz world.

Clàudia admires and studies the roots of jazz dance and music as a never-ending process in the development of her communication and self-expression through this art form.

She’s constantly revisiting her role in the jazz world, redefining what that music gives to her so she contribute back.

Wrapping up the Blues Intensive in Brașov, bringing together into a jam circle impro the elements we worked with during the 4 hours: basic Blues steps, qualities of Blues movement — smooth, grounded, angular, staccato, pulse; and then working with inserting blues islands in lindy hop using soft redirection and slow shared initiative ✨

So we wrapped up half a year of a solo blues pilot group with this choreo we prepared for about 2 months ✨ We continue the blues journey in September but until then, some thoughts:

Starting to think about choreos as scaffolds for better seeing people — there are so many layers of information that each person brings if the movement frame allows it: it is always so beautiful to witness how one embraces a move and unfolds within it: how a breath, a hand gesture, an unexpected sharp chest accent transform the so called “known” move into something new.

And Blues is such a good season for the steady discovering of parts within oneself ✨

The private hugs, thanks and cheesy declarations happened already but for our other kindred spirits here, a short round of public appreciation:
