Mozambique Update
I’ve received the following from an outfitter that was published to their private group. I know no more details than this.
I will simply say this - no hunt is worth dying for. Please be very careful before traveling to northern Mozambique for a hunt. Clearly the indications that this was just a “group of thugs” and akin to a “house break-in” are absolutely suspect.

Medical evacuation into Nothern Mozambique- Ace Air & Ambulance Zimbabwe
Our team flew into northern Mozambique yesterday to collect a professional hunter who had sustained poly trauma and a gunshot wound to the femur, very little medical information was given.
The team made up of two pilots a flight doctor nd flight nurse landed in a very remote location in the Niassa game reserve near the border of Mozambique and Tanzania, and were shocked to see burnt out small aircraft that were still smoking near the airfield, and a heavy military presence, the military rushed to the aircraft asking the team to leave immediately saying there were isis terrorists nearby! Only to find out they were in a hot zone in niassa where they have recently had Islamic attacks at a hunting camp, where they beheaded lodge staff and killed a number of rangers and burnt lodges.
Out of the bush came a vehicle full of armed rangers and carried a critically injured patient who infact was a ranger shot by Isis two days earlier.
While the rangers tried to get away from the islamists they rolled the vehicle and sustained femur fracture, diaphragmatic rupture, fracture ankle and bowl injuries ontop of the bullet wound in his other leg.
The military then allowed us to attend to him and said to please leave urgently as we were sitting ducks, and radio comms are being sent that isis are very close!
The military then surrounded the aircraft in combat positions protecting us while we started attending to the man who was now pale, septic and severely wounded.
After getting more information the patient had been shot and injured two days ago and had been hiding in the bush, while hiding, him and another ranger were then attacked by hyenas in the night and his friend was dragged away, and he cannot recall seeing or hearing from him again.
The team took three hours trying to stabilize the man before they could take off to the capital city which was a four hour flight away.
The medical Insurance who kept the information away from our team could have resulted in a very bad situation! But the ACE flight crew, knowing how dangerous the surroundings were said “we here so might as well do all we can”
The intervention was intensive and very well managed under such circumstances, chest drains, breathing tubes and assorted life saving medicine was administered to the critically injured man, surrounded by his work mates thanking ACE for all they did, and wished their comrade farewell.
The military and rangers quickly disappeared back into the thick bush as the aircraft took off, leaving them all to fight this group of evil men who simply want to kill the local people becuase they are Christians!!!
