Every tour brings a new adventure, and one of our unforgettable stayovers is at the stunning Convento da Orada in Monsaraz, nestled in the beautiful Alentejo province near the Spanish border.

On the expansive grounds of this pousada, you’ll find the Xerez megalithic complex, a remarkable site dating back 6,000 years. This ancient monument features 55 ovoid stones surrounding a towering 4.5m menhir that weighs an impressive 7 tons! We are happy to be hitting the road again to the Alentejo, Portugal! Tomorrow, we welcome a wonderful group of ten people arriving from South Africa. For the next week, we will be touring the heartland of rural Portugal.

The weather forecast looks blissful, with warm temperatures and clear skies. In this photo, I’m standing at the lavadouro público (public washhouse) in the old town of Vera Cruz, where townspeople traditionally washed their clothes. This charming town also inspired the name of our cycling company.

We hope to see you on one of our tours soon—it’s the best escape ever!
