The UPAI was formed on 14th July 2013 with the election of the Executive Board in Bangalore. The UPAI represents the active community of Ultimate Frisbee players in India including teams from:

Bharat Trophy 2026 — Spirit of the Game Result

Following a post-tournament review of the Spirit of the Game scores, we identified an error in the result announced during the Bharat Trophy 2026 Closing Ceremony.

At the time, the India Ultimate Hub displayed both Karnataka and Kerala with an average Spirit score of 10.4. This was treated as a tie, and the tournament tiebreaker was applied, resulting in Karnataka being announced as the Spirit of the Game Champions.

A subsequent review of the unrounded scores confirmed that Kerala had the higher average Spirit score. As the scores were not actually tied, the tiebreaker should not have been applied.

Kerala are therefore the official Spirit of the Game Champions of Bharat Trophy 2026. 🏆

We sincerely apologise to the Kerala team for this error and for not identifying it before the awards ceremony.

At the same time, we want to recognise Karnataka for their exceptional Spirit throughout the championship. The margin between Kerala and Karnataka was extremely small, and Karnataka demonstrated immense Spirit while also finishing as the Bharat Trophy 2026 National Champions — an achievement that deserves to be recognised.
Also, since this error was on our end, we do not believe it would be appropriate to ask the athletes to return those medals
A complete set of SOTG awards will also be presented to Kerala in recognition of their official result.

We are reviewing how Spirit standings are calculated and displayed to ensure that future results use the full, unrounded averages when determining final standings.

Congratulations to Kerala, the Bharat Trophy 2026 Spirit of the Game Champions, and to Karnataka for an outstanding championship — both competitively and in Spirit.

Bharat Trophy 2026 simply wouldn’t have been the same without the incredible people who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make it happen.

From tracking every score, assist and defensive play, to coordinating teams, supporting athletes and making sure everyone got the recognition they deserved — you were an essential part of the tournament.

And a very special shoutout to our photographers 📸 Neil D'souza Dhakshin krishnan Pooja Raghu , who spent long hours on the sidelines capturing the intensity, emotion, celebrations and all the moments that made Bharat Trophy special. You’ve given us memories we’ll be able to relive long after the final whistle.

Through early mornings, long days in the heat and plenty of running around, everyone of you showed up and made it happen.

Thank you for giving your time, supporting our athletes and helping us make the biggest Bharat Trophy yet one to remember. Some of you were missed during the photo,but we are grateful to each one of you.❤️

TO THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES. ❤️🥏

Bharat Trophy 2026 was our biggest one yet, and making it run as smoothly as it did took an incredible amount of work behind the scenes.

A very special thank you to the Senthamizh Flying Disc Association (SFDA) for being the backbone on the ground — from managing the venue and logistics to handling the countless little things that kept the tournament moving.

For the sleepless nights, ridiculously early mornings, endless running around, last-minute fixes— thank you for showing up and making it happen.

A big shoutout as well to the India Ultimate OPS team for working alongside SFDA and keeping everything on track.

The players saw the games. We saw everything it took to make them happen. ❤️
