It has been a busy week for Move Sports.
While the ESBA MaxiBasket Championship Algarve / Albufeira 2026 brings international veteran basketball to the Algarve, our team is also preparing the Lisbon Basketball Youth Cup in Lisbon and hosting a football sports tour for a U17 and U18 group from the United Kingdom.
Three projects, different audiences and one very full week of sport in Portugal.

It can’t just be us getting goosebumps watching this video 🏉
We lived the Dove Men+Care Portugal Rugby Youth Festival weekend so intensely that, even though it was only recently, we already miss it.
It makes us even more excited knowing that the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival Autumn Series is coming on the 24th and 25th of October. Even on a smaller scale, it still brings that incredible feeling of seeing so many people united by a sport we all love.
And if you’re still there, still following and wanting to be part of it too, then it means this festival has become something people want to keep coming back to ❤️ See you again soon!

Rugby tours have a way of bringing people together, both on and off the pitch.
From 5 to 9 June, Move Sports welcomed a rugby group from Wales to Lisbon for a few days built around sport, connection and discovery.
With around 51 adults staying in a 3-star hotel in the historic centre of the city, the tour offered the perfect balance between rugby and time to enjoy Lisbon at their own pace. The programme included a friendly match against local opposition, creating a shared rugby moment and the chance to experience the game in a different setting.
The rest of the trip was dedicated to exploring Lisbon, from its historic streets and viewpoints to the atmosphere, food and culture that make the city such a special destination for travelling groups.
At Move Sports, we believe a rugby tour is never just about the match. It is about the people you travel with, the places you discover and the stories that continue long after the final whistle.
Thank you to the group from Wales for joining us in Lisbon. It was a pleasure to be part of your tour.

We’ve been waiting for this moment for so long! And now we can finally say that there’s less than one month to go until we experience the Portugal Summer Football Cup once again. ⚽☀️
And honestly, we’ve missed everything about it: the energy of the teams, the sunset matches, the full stands and, above all, seeing the friendships that are created❤️
This tournament means so much more than football to us, and we believe it does to you too. It’s about reuniting with teams that joined previous editions, meeting new teams and sharing unforgettable days with people who have the same passion for the game.
We’re almost back… and we truly can’t wait to welcome you all. 🙌

Today, we celebrate Portugal.

Not just the places that appear in postcards, but the experiences that happen within them. The early-morning training sessions by the coast. The conversations shared over a meal after a match. The historic streets, the Atlantic beaches, the welcoming people and the moments that visitors take home with them long after they leave.

At Move Sports, we are fortunate to showcase Portugal to thousands of athletes, coaches, students and travellers from around the world every year. Through sport, events, tours and shared experiences, we have the opportunity to help people discover a country that offers far more than they expected.

On Portugal Day, we celebrate the culture, landscapes, communities and spirit that make this such a special place to visit, compete and connect.

Ninety-eight players, coaches and family members. Five days. One shared experience.
Recently, we welcomed a football club from the United Kingdom to the Lisbon region for a tour designed to combine training, competition and time together away from home.
With teams ranging from U8 to U12/13, the group enjoyed two sessions at a football performance and skills training centre, a Benfica Pro Coaching session and a visit to the iconic Estádio da Luz and Benfica Museum, offering young players the chance to experience football from different perspectives.
On the pitch, every age group played two matches against local opposition, testing themselves in a new environment and gaining valuable experience against unfamiliar teams and playing styles.
Away from football, there was still plenty to enjoy. From time at the beach and visits to Colombo Shopping Centre to discovering the waterfront atmosphere of Seixal Bay, the trip offered opportunities to relax, explore and strengthen friendships beyond the game.
Football tours create memories that go far beyond results. They give young players the chance to grow together, experience a different culture and return home with stories that will stay with them for years to come.
