Trip to Lisbon 🇵🇹

Euros didn’t go my way, but this trip was more about keeping a promise to myself.

Opening my first gym a few weeks ago, I knew I wouldn’t have the usual time and effort to prep for such a big comp- but I made a decision that my goal this year was to get to the euros mat and tap hands. And that I did!

There was lots of times when I was doing 16 hour days of putting floors down, or days of building stupidly heavy squat racks where I wanted to pull out- but I kept the promises to myself, got to the mats and always felt better after training.

Looking forward to an exciting year ahead made up of rolling, building , competing with my team and supporting my S&C team to achieve their huge 1026 goals 🫶🏼

Thanks to Martyn for helping me prepare, for keeping me sane throughout the last few months and coming with me, for being my comp sounding board and all my team mates. Love you all! 🫶🏼

2025 has been a real mix of brutal, yet brilliant.

Lost one of the most important people in my life, opened my first gym, trained with my teammates through all the highs and lows, and came home to my two best mates every day.

Thank-you to everyone who has dragged me through this year. Lots of highs and lows, but ending the year grateful for everything that’s come my way and very excited for my first year at Phase Five.

Back squats are a non-negotiable for me in MMA strength & conditioning.

Heavy back squats build the strength, neural efficiency, and resilience that make elite fighters more powerful, explosive, and durable.

This translates directly to harder strikes, stronger clinch control, and more explosive takedowns.

Here is squatting 85kg for 6 reps.. as a straw weight. Next up for Anna is a power block. Stay tuned! ⏳
