As the UK’s return to Erasmus+ the president see this as a positive step for the future of our sport. The legal agreement has now been finalised for the UK to join in 2027.
As we continue to develop the squad and expand Portugal Rugby League’s exposure, this could help us build stronger ties with partners in the UK and France. With the right partnerships in place, it could create opportunities for students and athletes, including those of Portuguese heritage, to continue their education while improving their rugby league in strong environments. It could also support the wider development of coaches, staff and organisations through international mobility and shared learning.
For PRL, this is about development. It is about creating better pathways, raising standards, strengthening the national squad, and building a stronger future for rugby league in Portugal.
We are building the foundations now. When the right opportunities become available, Portugal Rugby League will be ready to explore them properly.
