week, the five years that turned a breakdown into a method.
1913. He loses Freud, his standing, his place in the field. What follows is five years of visions, written by hand, later published as the Red Book.
Uranus crossed his Ascendant the year of the break. His Uranus opposition, the midlife crossing, ran through the middle of it. In 1917 Uranus reached his natal Saturn, the planet sitting on his Ascendant. That is the year the mandalas began.
Saturn on the Ascendant is why he did not fall. He kept his patients, his family, his routine. The container held while the contents rearranged.
If you are between 38 and 44, you are walking the same road. The question is what you are keeping while the rest moves.

A five-year plan is a route. A vision is a direction. The sky just made the difference expensive.
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all changed signs within eighteen months of each other, and right now all three stand in the first degrees of new territory at once. The routes expire. The directions survive.

Every year on my birthday I read my own solar return before I answer a single message. Ten years of charts, and it is the one practice I never skip. This year I wrote it down so you can walk it without me.

The facts worth knowing: once a year the Sun returns to the exact degree and minute it held at your first breath, and your year runs from that moment, not from January. It is not always on your birthday, because the return drifts about six hours later each year, which is the same drift that gives us leap years. It worked out for the people who tried more times.
The quiet Astro weather is still holding, which makes this a clean week for repetitions: the second pitch, the third take, the same conversation with better words. Averages reward a higher attempt count. So does confidence, which is mostly a memory of attempts survived.

In 1911 Carl Jung wrote to Freud that his evenings were taken up very largely with astrology. He was casting horoscopes for his patients, looking for a clue to the core of psychological truth. You can find the letter in the published Freud/Jung correspondence, and you can cast his chart yourself: Aquarius rising, with Mercury and Venus together in Cancer in his sixth house, the house of daily work.

His daily work looked like this. Years of painting every night into the pages that became the Red Book. A tower at Bollingen built with his own hands, where he cooked his own food and carved stone he never sold. A decade of alchemy read page by page. Psychology, alchemy, astrology, mysticism, placed together by one man’s ordinary evenings until they made a method the world still uses. From the outside it was thirty years of nothing happening.

Your sixth house runs the same way.
