Hopefully, we’ll never actually need any of this 😅🌊

We spent few days in Gdynia doing our Sea Survival course with European STCW Center — jumping into the Baltic in immersion suits, getting into life rafts, practising survival techniques and, of course, playing with flares.

Hopefully all of this knowledge will stay purely theoretical. But if we ever end up in a life raft in the middle of the Atlantic waiting for rescue… we’ll definitely be thinking of this course and everyone we shared it with 😂

Miejmy nadzieję, że nigdy tak naprawdę nie będziemy musieli z tego wszystkiego skorzystać 😅🌊

Spędziliśmy kilka dni w Gdyni na kursie Sea Survival w European STCW Center — wskakiwaliśmy do Bałtyku w kombinezonach ratunkowych, wchodziliśmy do tratwy ratunkowej, ćwiczyliśmy techniki przetrwania i oczywiście strzelaliśmy racami.

Miejmy nadzieję, że cała ta wiedza pozostanie czysto teoretyczna. Ale jeśli kiedykolwiek znajdziemy się na tratwie ratunkowej pośrodku Atlantyku, czekając na ratunek… na pewno będziemy myśleć o tym kursie i o wszystkich, którzy wzięli w nim udział 😂

Ogromne podziękowania dla European STCW Center za świetny kurs! ❤️

Pasamos unos días en Gdynia haciendo nuestro curso de Sea Survival con European STCW Center: saltamos al Báltico con trajes de inmersión, practicamos cómo subir a una balsa salvavidas, técnicas de supervivencia y, por supuesto, jugamos con bengalas.

Esperemos que todo este conocimiento se quede únicamente en la teoría. Pero si alguna vez acabamos en una balsa salvavidas en medio del Atlántico esperando ser rescatados… definitivamente nos acordaremos de este curso y de todos con quienes lo compartimos 😂

Preparing for the crossing isn’t just about working on the boat. 🌊

We also need to make sure our desalination system actually works — and for that, we needed some real seawater.

The water was freezing, the waves were bigger than expected, but somehow we managed to collect it and bring it all the way to Warsaw. 😂

Now let’s just hope it works… because we definitely can’t afford a new one — unless decides to help us out. 👀😂

Przygotowania do przepłynięcia Atlantyku to nie tylko praca przy łódce. 🌊

Musimy też upewnić się, że nasz system odsalania naprawdę działa — a do tego potrzebowaliśmy prawdziwej wody morskiej.

Woda była lodowata, fale większe, niż się spodziewaliśmy, ale jakoś udało nam się ją pobrać i przywieźć aż do Warszawy. 😂

Teraz pozostaje tylko mieć nadzieję, że wszystko działa… bo zdecydowanie nie stać nas na nowy system — chyba że postanowi nam pomóc. 👀😂

Prepararse para cruzar el Atlántico no consiste solo en trabajar en el barco. 🌊

También tenemos que asegurarnos de que nuestro sistema de desalinización realmente funciona — y para eso necesitábamos agua de mar de verdad.

El agua estaba helada, las olas eran más grandes de lo esperado, pero de alguna manera conseguimos recogerla y llevarla hasta Varsovia. 😂

Ahora solo queda esperar que funcione… porque definitivamente no podemos permitirnos comprar uno nuevo — a menos que decida echarnos una mano. 👀😂

Another long and exhausting day working on Ravi. 🛠️

Fixing the trailer electrics, replacing the lights, sanding the bottom of the boat and preparing the damaged areas of the hull to be re-laminated.

It’s hot and tiring, but I actually really enjoy it. It’s hard work, but there are no excuses — if we want to cross the Atlantic, we have to put in the work first. 🌊

Kolejny długi i wyczerpujący dzień pracy przy Ravi. 🛠️

Naprawiam elektrykę przyczepy, wymieniam światła, szlifuję dno łódki i przygotowuję uszkodzone miejsca w kadłubie do ponownego laminowania.

Jest gorąco i męcząco, ale naprawdę lubię tę pracę. Jest ciężko, ale nie ma wymówek — jeśli chcemy przepłynąć Atlantyk, najpierw musimy na to zapracować. 🌊

Otro día largo y agotador trabajando en Ravi. 🛠️

Arreglando la instalación eléctrica del remolque, cambiando las luces, lijando el fondo del bote y preparando las zonas dañadas del casco para volver a laminarlas.

Hace calor y es agotador, pero la verdad es que disfruto mucho este trabajo. Es duro, pero no hay excusas — si queremos cruzar el Atlántico, primero tenemos que trabajar para conseguirlo. 🌊

When we bought Ravi, we knew there would be a lot of work ahead of us.

What we didn’t expect was to spend so much time removing old stickers. 😅

It’s not the most exciting part of getting ready for an Atlantic crossing, but it’s all part of the process. There’s still a long list of things to do, but it’s nice to finally see Ravi slowly taking shape.

A lot of work ahead… but we’re getting there. 🌊

Kiedy kupiliśmy Ravi, wiedzieliśmy, że czeka nas dużo pracy.

Nie spodziewaliśmy się tylko, że spędzimy tyle czasu na usuwaniu starych naklejek. 😅

To nie jest najbardziej ekscytująca część przygotowań do przepłynięcia Atlantyku, ale to wszystko jest częścią procesu. Wciąż mamy długą listę rzeczy do zrobienia, ale miło w końcu widzieć, jak Ravi powoli nabiera kształtu.

Jeszcze sporo pracy przed nami… ale powoli do celu. 🌊

Cuando compramos Ravi, sabíamos que teníamos mucho trabajo por delante.

Lo que no esperábamos era pasar tanto tiempo quitando las pegatinas viejas. 😅

No es la parte más emocionante de prepararnos para cruzar el Atlántico, pero todo forma parte del proceso. Todavía tenemos una larga lista de cosas por hacer, pero es bonito ver por fin cómo Ravi va tomando forma poco a poco.

Todavía queda mucho trabajo por delante… pero poco a poco vamos llegando. 🌊

Finally, Ravi is in Poland! 🇵🇱❤️

What a journey this has been. Getting her here meant dealing with norwegian and polish offices, customs agencies, paperwork, endless emails, phone calls, and more stress than we ever expected. There were plenty of sleepless nights wondering if everything would work out.

But we made it. And seeing Ravi finally here makes every bit of that effort worth it.

Now the real work begins. We’ll spend the next weeks getting her ready, making improvements, and preparing for the adventures ahead. Then it’s finally time to put her on the water and start training for our Atlantic crossing.

Weekend well spent. A few hours on the river, plenty of laughs, and a little reminder that the best adventures are often the simplest ones. 🌊

It’s strange to think that this boat will one day be our home.

For two months in the middle of the Atlantic, it’ll be the place where we sleep, eat, row, watch sunrises and sunsets, and experience one of the biggest adventures of our lives.

For now, she’s still in Norway, but we’re already counting down the days until she arrives in Poland and we can start sharing more of the journey with you.

We can’t wait. 🌊
