⚽ Pozytywny Coaching
📘 1x1 game
🔥 EXERCISE
1v1 with Finishing on a Large Goal
Players positioned as shown in the graphic, side by side centrally on the end line of the field. Between them, the coach with the ball starts the exercise by playing the ball and indicating the player who plays in the attacking role (shown in red on the graphic). Automatically, the second player (blue) becomes the defender after going around the small goal and chases the opponent. The goal for the attacking player is to score a goal in the large goal, which is additionally guarded by a goalkeeper. If the defender intercepts the ball (or the goalkeeper saves the attacker`s shot), they attack one of the two small goals.
Coaching points
Attacker:
- Quick ball control (first touch)
- Quick gain of space (progress in the game) to quickly find oneself in the immediate vicinity of the large goal
- Control of the space behind (over-the-shoulder vision)
- Immediate reaction after losing the ball, quick recovery and attempt to regain possession
Defender:
- Rapid reduction of the distance to the attacker (closing the gap)
- Attempt to make physical contact with the opponent (bodywork), or if possible, get ahead of them
- Quick reaction after winning the ball, immediate attempt to pass the ball to the small goal
Remember Coach
To prevent the pressure on the player with the ball from being too low from the defending side, it is worth positioning the goals at the appropriate distance from the players at the start of the exercise. This means that a short distance from the goal will result in a quick reaction from the defender in the field (additional cones can also be used, placed closer to the players, which the player can bypass before entering the field).
