Another candidate of "missing reinforcements in key points". This Severne XS-3 4.1 shown weird wrinkles in the lower part of the foot panel next to the mast pocket, batten pocket end and so on. The blue colored pentex material was sewn at the battenpocket without a layer of dacron tape under the pocket material. The cheap paper seam stick was already useless after one season. The thread was pulled through the pentex due the downhaul load usually applied while rigging. Additional the idea to "fold" a dacron layer over the seams to cover wear and tear was nice but at the factory someone forgot to add additional seam tape to protect the tread pulling through the pentex clothes. We applied a black insignia tape patch both sides under the batten packet and orange front panel all way down to the foot reinforcement. This will help to distribute futurly force from downhauling into the lower blue pentex panel without stressing the batten pocket and frontpanel seams.

2014 - Avanti Sails Machine M1X 8.5 - A Typical problem top webbing breaks. Originally a monofilm piece was covered by a cheap webbing ex-factory. The film material worked itself through the webbing. Our german client wasnt happy to swim back at the seaside. We replace with SPECTRA webbing (holding up to 1.5to). Most difficulties for a sail repair service is to sew reinforcement in Top area. Tricky to bring back all materials and layers to its place. After all an original Avanti Top Plug was fitted. Sail ready for some more sea miles
