From Aqaba to Amman, following the Jordan Bike Trail!
🇯🇴
Day two started in Petra, specifically in Wadi Musa, and took me to the heart of the country, to the famous Al-Karak, with its huge castle and historic town situated on a hill. The shots you see are from that section, including the best views of Wadi Ghwayr and Dana Nature Reserve. The land became much hillier, the climbs much steeper, and the hike-a-bike sections showed their teeth.
But you also deserve some explanation, as my plan for JBT was a bit different, from how it actually happened. I was going to ride it long, with less sleep more cycling. But I had a silly crash on day one and injured my left hand pretty badly. I was thinking it would be ok, and decided to continue, but when in the evening of day one, my left hand became severely swollen, and the ability to bend my index finger dropped practically to zero, I decided to stop and have a rest in the B&B for the night. And the plan from there was exactly like that. I rode as much as I could during the day, and rested my hand at night, because the pain was pretty intense after the whole day holding the bars.
And there I was, on day two, finishing it in Al-Karak, with another day of fantastic views, and some nice encounters with local people, who will always invite you for a tea or coffee. You will never miss that if you travel through Jordan! 🤟
