QUETTA, August 15, 2026 : 79th Independence Day Inter-Clubs Archery Championship 2026" was held on Friday the August 14, 2026, at Moulana Niaz Mohammad Durrani Archery Club Quetta at Akhtar Muhammad Jamia Masjid area of Pashtunabad, Quetta. The chief guest at the ceremony was tribal leader and head of the Nurzai Jirga, Professor Hafiz Obaidullah. According to a statement issued by the spokesperson for Balochistan Archery Association, Nisar Yadgar Sarangzai on Saturday, Archers from various districts of the province participated in the event, representing their respective archery clubs and showcasing their skills. He added that in light of the directives issued by worthy Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Balochistan, Mr. Durra Baloch, District Sports Officer Quetta, Mr. Muhammad Arslan Khan Nurzai, attended the event of archery game organized under the auspices of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Balochistan, at Molana Niaz Mohammad Durrani Archery Club, located at the foothills of the Koh-e-Mehrdar mountain range in Akhtar Muhammad Jamia Masjid area of Pashtunabad Quetta. Mr. Arslan Khan Nurzai, District Sports Officer Quetta personally encouraged the archers of the participating archery clubs.
In the championship, Hussain Ahmad Nurzai of Moulana Niaz Mohammad Durrani Archery Club Quetta won the Gold Medal in the senior category, while Muzammil Ahmad Khan secured the Gold Medal in the junior competitions.
At the conclusion of the championship, the chiet guest, tribal elite and head of “Nurzai Jirga,” Professor Hafiz Obaidullah, distributed prizes among the players and highly motivated them.
A large number of spectators, including children, enjoyed the competitions of the 76th Independence Day Inter-Clubs Archery Championship 2026, organized under the auspices of Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Balochistan to mark “79 Independence Day 2026”.
On this occasion, President, Balochistan Mix Martial Arts Association, Rehmatullah Nurzai, Senior Associate Secretary, Balochistan Archery Association, Muhammad Ajmal Khan Kakar, President, Moulana Niaz Muhammad Durrani Archery Club Quetta, Asrar Khan Nurzai, General Secretary, Moulana Niaz Mohammad Durrani Archery Club Quetta, Muhammad Humayun, tribal elder Haji Faizullah Khan Nurzai and others were also present.
