🇵🇰 Pakistan Underwater Federation successfully conducted a 𝗢𝗡𝗘-𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗕𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘 for the 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗦𝗦𝗨) at 𝗝𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗿 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶.
🤿 The training was conducted under the professional supervision of PUF instructors, focusing on basic scuba diving skills, water confidence, and essential diving techniques.

Pakistan Blind Sports Federation and Pakistan Underwater Federation Sign MoU to Promote Inclusive Swimming and Underwater Sports in Pakistan

Karachi, 23 September 2026:
The Pakistan Blind Sports Federation (PBSF) and Pakistan Underwater Federation (PUF) have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting and developing Swimming, Finswimming and Underwater Sports in Pakistan, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for athletes with visual impairments.

The MoU was signed today at the National Sailing Centre, Karachi, in the presence of representatives from both federations and the Sindh Blind Sports Association.

The collaboration will focus on expanding access to swimming and underwater sports, developing athletes and coaches, organizing training programs and competitions, and creating pathways for athletes with visual impairments to participate in national and international sporting activities.

The signing ceremony was attended by:

* Mr. Muhammad Waqas Waraich, President, Pakistan Blind Sports Federation

Speaking on the occasion, the representatives highlighted the importance of providing equal sporting opportunities and developing structured pathways for athletes with visual impairments in swimming and underwater sports.

Through this MoU, PBSF and PUF will work together to facilitate training, coaching, athlete development, competitions, talent identification and promotion of Swimming and Finswimming across Pakistan.

The partnership also aims to strengthen cooperation between the two federations and support the participation of Pakistani athletes in national and international events.

Both organizations expressed their commitment to working jointly for the promotion of inclusive sports, athlete development and the growth of swimming and underwater sports in Pakistan.

آصف محمود — ایک دوست، ایک کمانڈو، ایک پیرا گلائیڈر اور ایک بے مثال پروفیشنل

آصف محمود کی اچانک وفات کی خبر میرے لیے ذاتی طور پر ایک بہت بڑا صدمہ ہے۔ میں انہیں گزشتہ تقریباً 7–8 سال سے جانتا تھا۔ وہ ہمارے پاس کورس کرنے آئے، ایکس پاکستان نیوی اور اسپیشل سروس گروپ کے کمانڈو، ایک ماہر پیرا گلائیڈر اور پاکستان انڈر واٹر فیڈریشن کے ساتھ ڈائریکٹر سکوبا ڈائیونگ کی حیثیت سے اپنی خدمات انجام دے رہے تھے۔

کچھ دن پہلے ہی مجھے اپنی فیملی کے ساتھ خانپور ڈیم میں ان سے ملنے کا موقع ملا۔ انہوں نے ہمیں راولپنڈی سے پک کیا اور ہمارے ساتھ وہ وقت آج بھی یادوں میں تازہ ہے۔ ہر سال ہمارا اسلام آباد آنا جانا، ان کے پاس قیام، ان کا کراچی آنا، اور خصوصاً سکوبا ڈائیونگ اور اسپیئر فشنگ کے ایونٹس میں ان کی قیادت—یہ سب یادیں ہمیشہ ہمارے ساتھ رہیں گی۔

میں نے اپنی زندگی میں کھیلوں کے شعبے میں بہت سے پروفیشنلز کے ساتھ کام کیا ہے، لیکن آصف محمود جیسا پروفیشنل، عاجز، مخلص، باصلاحیت، ڈیڈیکیٹڈ اور اپنے کام کا گہرا علم رکھنے والا انسان بہت کم دیکھا۔

ان کی commitment، knowledge، dedication، achievements، objectives اور اپنے کام کے ساتھ غیر معمولی لگن کا کوئی مقابلہ نہیں کر سکتا۔ وہ صرف ایک بہترین اسپورٹس مین نہیں تھے بلکہ ایک بہترین انسان، ایک مخلص دوست اور اپنی کمیونٹی کے لیے ایک قیمتی اثاثہ تھے۔

پاکستان انڈر واٹر فیڈریشن، ایکویٹک اسپورٹس، سکوبا ڈائیونگ، اسپیئر فشنگ اور پیرا گلائیڈنگ کمیونٹی آپ کی خدمات کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھے گی۔
