Sometimes we don’t stop being grateful because we don’t have enough.
We stop noticing because we’ve become used to what we have.
The house becomes “endless cleaning.”
The job becomes “just work.”
The children become “constant noise.”
The people who need us become “too many demands.”
And yes, these things can genuinely exhaust us.
Emotional intelligence isn’t about forcing yourself to feel grateful when you’re overwhelmed.
It’s about becoming aware of the whole picture.
You can be tired of the process and still value what the process gives you.
Sometimes, a small pause is enough to turn
“Why is this so exhausting?”
into
“What is this exhaustion connected to—and what does it mean to me?”
That shift in awareness can change the way we experience ordinary life.
What is something you’ve become so used to that you sometimes forget to appreciate it?
