Malir Garrison Polo Club

Malir Garrison Polo Club Polo has been played in Karachi since the British Raj. Last match at that ground was played for Baghdad Pact Trophy in 1958.

Initially, the Polo ground used to be behind today's Pearl Continental Hotel where the area is still known as "Polo Ground". Regular Polo was seen in Karachi till Presidents Body Guard was stationed here i.e 1964, after which the game was shifted to Race Course Polo Ground in Karachi Cantonment. Many Dignitaries and prestigious international teams visited Karachi Polo Club in those days. At Karach

i Cantonment Ground the last game was played in 1995, after which the ground was converted into some other utility and Polo went into back drop due to lack of proper ground. Polo in Karachi was actually looking for patronage and found it in Malir Garrison. Previously, Polo in Karachi was played on brown top ground. The challenge of making a grassy pitch with sufficient recycled water and sprinkling system was taken up at Malir, which became a success. An organized club is now in place by the name of Malir Garrison Polo Club which now boasts possessing 2 green grounds, a club house, a riding school and elaborate stabling arrangements duly registered with Pakistan Polo Association.

Dear Members,

I am pleased to announce that Malir Garrison Polo & Saddle Club has once again become The Champion of Balochistan Polo Cup 2018 which was held at Quetta Polo Club from 7-12 September 2018.
On 12th September was the final match which was played between the teams of 5 Corps (our team) & Southern Command (Quetta). After a tough competitive match the scores were 7-5.

We are thankful to Mr. Shiraz Qureshi for contributing & sponsoring this beautiful monument for Malir Garrison Polo & Saddle Club. A testament to our members' affiliation with the club.
The monument was painted thematically by a renowned Paint Artist Mr. Gulraiz who is well known for decorating the container-yard's walls with Pakistani Truck Art.

Karachi Polo & Tent-pegging Cup 2017 🏆(sponsored by Burshane Petroleum) will kick off today i.e. 11th November 2017. The final match will be held between the finalists on 18th November 2017 along with Tent-pegging and riding gala.
The Chief Guest for final match is Corps Commander 5 Corps, Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza.
