The Institute of Professional Psychology has been established in response to dire need for mental health professionals and acute dearth of professional services in Pakistan. Our mission is to provide excellent education for career in Psychology through integration of theory and professional practice. We strive to provide our students with every possible resource for academic success. The programs

offered at graduate and post graduate levels are tailored to meet the latest curriculum requirements in the field of psychology; with specializations in domains of Clinical, Educational and Organizational psychology. We not only educate people through the degree programs, but also with various workshops and training sessions that cater diverse topics. It works as an attempt to give our masses the flavor of psychology. Our dedicated faculty members are not only scholars but practicing psychologist with years of hands-on experience. The Institute of Professional Psychology at Bahria University Karachi Campus successfully launched the 1st PsyX International Conference 2026, themed Psychology x Society x Intelligence. This milestone event reinforces our commitment to advancing mental health and academic discourse in Pakistan.

The inaugural session featured distinguished leaders including Rear Admiral Muhammad Zubair Shafique HI(M) Retd, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Farrukh Z. Ahmad, and Guest of Honor His Excellency Mr. Surashete Boontinand, who shared valuable insights on mindfulness.

​The program included a keynote by Dr. Duane Rouselle () corporate perspectives from Mr. Takayuki Nakamichi and expert societal analyses by Prof. Dr. Qudsia Tariq and Dr. Musarrat Alam Khan. A highlight was the panel discussion featuring prominent academics and ex-Senator Karim Ahmed Khawaja, moderated by Dr. .farooqi and concluded by Conference Convenor Dr.

With contributions from the Kiran Foundation, Columbia University, and a performance by the Expressive Arts and Psychodramatics Club, the morning concluded with a vote of thanks from the leadership team, including Dr. Noreen Jaffri. We thank all contributors for making this inaugural session a resounding success.

The Department of Professional Psychology at Bahria University’s H-11 campus hosted a pre-conference seminar on May 19, 2026.
The event was organized as part of the upcoming Psy X International Conference 2026, which is being organized by the Institute of Professional Psychology (IPP), Bahria University Karachi, scheduled to be held on May 21, 2026.
The seminar was conducted under the theme, “Environment and Human: The Complex Trajectory.” The session was moderated by Dr. Huma Hassan (Assistant Professor, DPP-H11).

Key presenters of the seminar included:

• Dr. Fiza Sarwar (Assistant Professor, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Bahria University), who presented on “The Environmental Change: The Health Nexus.”
• Ms. Javeria Asim (Lecturer, Bahria University), who spoke on “Climate Change and its Mental Health Impacts: Barriers to Action.”
• Dr. Uzma Ilyas (Session Chair, Forman Christian College University), who presented on “Interplay Between Human and Climate Interaction: Pro-Environmental Behavior (PEB), Active Hope in the Face of Climate Doomism,” emphasizing the role of active hope in fostering positive environmental action.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Hina Ghafoor, Head of the Department of Professional Psychology (H-11 Campus), who highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research and collaborative approaches in addressing contemporary environmental and psychological challenges.
