President Mohsin Gillani, in an interview with Geo, says: "We want district leagues first, then provincial leagues, and after that national leagues. Along with this, there should be an Under-17 and an Under-20 league, as well as a women’s league. Until we organize leagues in different formats, players will not be able to progress through the system.

For example, the Capital League is going on in Islamabad – we want every district to have its own district league."

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to introduce a new international competition called the AFC Nations League for a better structure during FIFA international windows.

“The effective utilisation of the FIFA International Match Windows has become increasingly challenging due to limited opponent availability, rising operational costs and logistical complexities, often diminishing the sporting value of international fixtures,” the AFC said in a statement

🎙️Mohsen Gilani, President PFF emphasized the vital role that departmental sports play in the development of Pakistan’s athletic talent and national pride.

“Departments have always been the backbone of Pakistan’s sporting success,” stated Mr. Gilani. “Their contribution in nurturing talent, fostering discipline, and promoting healthy competition is unmatched. They are the foundation upon which our national sports achievements are built.”

He further highlighted the importance of revitalizing departmental football: “Reviving and supporting departmental teams is crucial for Pakistan’s future in football. The recent National Games, where all finalists represented different departments, clearly demonstrate their pivotal role in shaping our athletes and inspiring young talent across the country.”

The President PFF expressed confidence in the federation’s ongoing efforts: “Our focus remains on strengthening departmental sports programs, organizing competitive events, and providing a platform for talented athletes to excel. By doing so, we aim to build a vibrant sporting culture that brings pride and recognition to Pakistan.”

He said, “Together, with the support of all stakeholders, we can elevate Pakistan football to new heights and create a legacy of excellence for generations to come.”
