Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has inaugurated the newly developed 702-kanal Abbottabad Park, constructed at a reported cost of Rs. 1.47 billion.
The major recreational project features six walking tracks, 30 gazebos, a 365-metre zip line, a cricket ground, children’s play area, mosque and parking facilities, offering residents and visitors a new space for recreation and outdoor activities.
The park also has a strong focus on greenery, with around 7,000 of the planned 13,000 trees already planted. Authorities say no trees were cut during the construction of the project.
The facility is expected to benefit nearly 1.9 million people, providing families, children and visitors with opportunities for exercise, leisure and outdoor recreation.
The new park is being seen as a significant addition to Abbottabad’s public infrastructure and could further enhance the city’s appeal as a recreational destination in Hazara.
