Mas-Wrestling Federation Denied Affiliation Despite Fulfilling Requirements, Athletes Face Injustice
Gujrat: President Punjab Mas-Wrestling Association, Ch. Ihtsham Akmal Chechi, has expressed serious concern over the continued delay in granting affiliation to the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation despite the completion of all required legal and administrative formalities.
He stated that under the leadership of Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation, Pakistani athletes have delivered outstanding performances at international platforms and secured multiple medals, bringing pride to the country.
He further highlighted that Nawab Furqan Khan has fulfilled all requirements, documentation, and conditions set by the Pakistan Sports Board. However, the federation’s affiliation remains pending without any justified reason.
Ch. Ihtsham Akmal Chechi noted that athletes are facing unnecessary hurdles in obtaining NOCs for international participation, while medal-winning players continue to be overlooked and deprived of their rightful recognition.
He added that such actions raise serious concerns regarding transparency, fairness, and merit in the decision-making process.
The Punjab Mas-Wrestling Association urges the Pakistan Sports Board and the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination to ensure immediate merit-based and transparent decisions, grant rightful affiliation to the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation, and provide equal treatment to all sports federations.
He emphasized that Mas-Wrestling athletes are valuable national assets and deserve recognition, support, and justice.
