Ravi was once the local cricket prodigy—everyone believed he’d make it to the state team. But life had other plans. His father fell ill, and Ravi dropped everything—coaching, matches, even his dreams—to run a small tea stall and take care of the family. Years passed. His bat gathered dust, and people forgot.
One day, a local club’s fast bowler got injured, and they were desperate. They remembered Ravi and begged him to play just one match. Hesitant and rusty, Ravi agreed. He hadn’t trained in five years. Everyone doubted him.
The match reached the final over. The team needed 12 runs, and Ravi was on strike. Sweat ran down his forehead—not from the heat, but the weight of expectations and years of silence. First ball: dot. Second: four. Third: two. Fourth: swing and a miss. Fifth: six.
