Two athletes.
Two different sports.
Two knockouts scored at the 3rd round.

Salman Jakiran (Muay Thai) 🤝 Talal Del Rosario (Boxing)
Both are actually kickboxers - just competing under different rules that night.

They walked in calm.
No rush. No extra noise.
Just did the work and trusted it.

They stayed patient, waited for the opening…
and when it showed up?

3rd round.
Knockout.

Nothing flashy about it.
Just hours in the gym, rounds on the pads, getting tired, getting hit, and still choosing to move forward.

That’s really it.
Different disciplines, same habits, same respect for the process.

Big congrats to both of you.

Zamboanga Kickboxing Team Does It Again!

The Mindanao Kickboxing Championships 2025 was nothing short of electric, and our Zamboanga warriors showed up and showed OUT.

Out of 10 athletes, 5 brought home medals… and one of us even snagged the title of Best Kickboxer for Young Cadets.

🏅 Karl Saldavia – GOLD (Age 10-12, 24.1kg–28kg) + Best Kickboxer for Young Cadets

🥇 Julie Anne A. Antonio – GOLD (Age 10-12, 28.1kg–32kg)

🥈 Rafael Jofe L. Alegroso – SILVER (Age 10-12, 24.1kg–28kg)

🥈 Razzel P. Toribio – SILVER (Age 13-15, 32.1kg–37kg)

🥉 Nyle Kramor L. Cartin – BRONZE (Age 13-15, 42.1kg–47kg)

From long hours of training to stepping into the mat with unshakable grit, these kids proved what Zamboangueño heart is all about.

Congrats, champions.

And thank you coaches, this wouldn’t have been possible without you guys.

You’ve all made the city proud.

Onto the Nationals.

We still get messages almost every week:

“Is the gym open again?”
“Are you guys training?”
“When’s the next fight?”

Quick answer?
Not yet.

The gym’s been closed for about a year now.
We’d love nothing more than to open the doors, blast pads, and get back to war.
But for now, we’re keeping it tight.

Still, the grind hasn’t stopped.
Our athletes are self-training.
Shadowboxing in their garages.
Running hills.
Hitting pads with coaches when schedules line up.

No gym? No problem.
The fight stays alive.

We’ll let everyone know the moment we reopen.
But until then, if you’re still training on your own, still hungry…
We see you.

Keep training.

They say the real win is showing up. But today, we did a lot more than that.

Our kickboxing team went head-to-head with the strongest amateur Muay Thai team in Mindanao. (Maybe even the Philippines)

Their rules. Their style. Their home turf.

We didn’t come out with gold medals.
But we stood our ground.
We fought hard.
And we made damn sure they knew we were there.

Every single athlete showed heart. Discipline. And the kind of courage you don’t teach in training.

Kickboxers who stepped into the Muay Thai ring and proved they belong.

To the team: I’m proud of every one of you.
To the crowd: You haven’t seen the last of us.

On to the next.
