I Think every Gym owner will agree with this..
To every gym member, please understand something from a gym owner’s point of view.
When you walk into a gym and pay your monthly membership, you are paying for the right to use the equipment — you are not buying the equipment.
Every machine, every barbell, every plate, every bench… costs a lot of money. And behind every piece of equipment is an owner who worked hard, invested money, and took risks to build a place where people can train.
So when a machine gets slammed, scratched, abused, or carelessly thrown around, it’s not “just a machine” to us. It’s our investment. It’s our livelihood. It’s something we worked hard to provide for you.
And honestly, one of the most frustrating things for a gym owner is hearing members complain:
“The machines are old.”
“The equipment looks ugly.”
“Why is this machine rusty?”
But sometimes we have to ask ourselves…
Who made it look that way?
We gym owners don’t wake up wanting our equipment to look old, scratched, dirty, or rusty. We spend money repairing, cleaning, repainting, maintaining, and replacing equipment because we want our members to have a good place to train.
We understand that equipment will naturally wear out over time. That’s part of owning a gym. But neglect and abuse are different from normal wear and tear.
So the next time you use a machine, barbell, bench, or plate, remember that someone paid for it, maintained it, and worked hard to put it there.
Treat the equipment with respect. Not because you’re afraid of the owner — but because you respect the place that helps you become stronger.
A gym isn’t just a room full of machines.
For a gym owner, it’s years of hard work standing in front of you.
