Whether they win or lose, I have nothing but respect for these women who answered the call to represent our country. 🇵🇭
I also understand and respect the decisions of those who chose not to join for their own personal reasons. Every athlete has a story, a struggle, and circumstances that we may not fully know or understand. Some players declined national team duties due to personal, recovery, or other considerations, and they have expressed support for the team.
But today, I choose to applaud the players who stepped onto the court, wore the Philippine colors, and carried the weight of representing our nation. Led by veterans like Valdez, Gonzaga, Molina these athletes answered the call and gave their time, effort, and heart for the flag. Alyssa herself said she would "never get tired of representing the country."
Supporting these women does not mean disregarding the feelings or choices of others. We can respect everyone while still appreciating those who chose to fight for the Philippines.
Thank you, Alas Pilipinas. Win or lose, you have made our country proud. 🇵🇭🏐❤️
