The road to the championship wasn’t flawless, as Enverga Lucena experienced their lone defeat of the season against Crusaders. Instead of letting that loss define them, they used it as motivation and returned stronger when the title was on the line.

Crusaders fought with determination and refused to back down, but Enverga Lucena answered with their biggest strengths; size, athleticism, and composure. Their height gave them control in the paint, while their fast-paced play and teamwork kept them in command throughout the game. The Rusaldo Effect 😝

Chad Rusaldo powered the Crusaders to a 67-63 victory over Karis 18U in the semifinals of the JMV x QBH Season 3. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Game award after scoring 22 points.

Rusaldo set the tone early by scoring back-to-back baskets in the opening quarter and continued to lead the Crusaders whenever Karis made a run. He finished with 22 points, helping his team secure another win over Karis and advance to the JMV x QBH Season 3 Finals.

Finals Bound Again

Crusaders defeated Karis 18U, 67-63, in the semifinals of the JMV x QBH Season 3 on July 21, 2026, at Silungang Bayan in Tayabas City. A strong offensive performance helped the Crusaders earn another victory over Karis and book their spot in the finals.

Crusaders wasted no time making their presence felt as Chad Rusaldo caught fire in the opening quarter. He knocked down back-to-back baskets to lead his team early and gave Karis a tough time keeping up with his offense. Karis answered through Lecenia and Mendiola, while Padilla also connected from long range for the Crusaders.

The game stayed close as both teams traded three-pointers. Mendiola kept Karis alive with timely shots in the first and fourth quarters, while Lecenia stepped up in the third quarter by knocking down back-to-back baskets and leading the offense. Even with his impressive scoring, Crusaders continued to answer with big shots of their own.

Although Crusaders had a deeper lineup, the game remained physical from start to finish. Multiple fouls were called on both teams, with many players already carrying more than two fouls. Karis, fresh from their Sinag Liga Asya Junior campaign in Cebu, fought hard but struggled to match the Crusaders’ balanced offense, as several Crusaders players also knocked down shots from beyond the arc.

Lecenia finished with 29 points for Karis, but it was not enough to stop Crusaders from escaping with a 67-63 victory. After losing once to Karis earlier, Crusaders have now defeated them twice, punching their ticket to the championship round.
