The Football for Peace caravan is now in the hallowed ground of football in the Philippines, Barotac, Iloilo. In collaboration with JCFC and ELBFA, the clinic will be conducted at the FIFA Training Center Football Field, Brgy Tabucan. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from FFP volunteer coaches, most especially from one of their own, the ambassador of Football for Peace, Coach Elmer ‘Lacknet’ Bedia, and engage in various drills designed to enhance their skills. This event not only promotes athletic development but also fosters camaraderie and community spirit among young athletes.

The Philippine Army Civil Military Operations Battalion takes part during the Football for Peace caravan in Silay City. The army showcased their capabilities in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The 3CMOBn also provided awareness to the youth participants about the atrocities and recruitment activities of the insurgents on Negros Island that hamper the peaceful environment in the province. This initiative fosters community engagement and empowers the youth with knowledge to resist such influences. By promoting dialogue and understanding, the program aims to cultivate a more resilient and informed generation.

The Football for Peace ambassador with a big HEART

Coach Elmer ‘Lacknet’ Bedia who came from a poor family in Barotac, Iloilo pays it forward to the community by sharing not only his expertise in football, the game he loves so much, but also his resources, time and passion to provide the kids in the countryside some football jerseys from Australia. He collected new football accessories and brought in the Philippines where he can distribute it during the football for peace caravan. A simple gesture of generosity but creates a lasting impact to the children and to the community where FFP reached out.

Peace starts with individual who has a heart for others. For us to attain peace in our country, we must start by checking our individual hearts first. Do we have a heart for others?

Coach Lacknet exemplified this for having a big heart for others, inspite of his age and pain in his knees, he can still manage to teach, to share and to sacrifice for the benefit of those who are in need.
