In a male-centered society where women are often treated as sexual objects, confined to domestic roles, and subjected to violence and misogynistic remarks rooted in patriarchal fantasies, the UPTC Planking Society planks in solidarity with women's rights in commemoration of National Women’s Month.
If a senator like Robin Padilla can proudly boast about his “in-heat” moments, and a congressman like B**g Suntay can make lewd remarks toward a married woman and a respected actress, what then happens behind closed doors—undocumented and unknown to the public?
These incidents reflect a broader culture of misogyny. Hence, the UPTC Planking Society condemns such acts that perpetuate the same system that enables society to view women as mere objects, when women are capable of far more. Such vile remarks have no place in society, especially within the planking community.
If others choose to harass women, we choose to plank for their dignity.
