ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

We only have one day left before our 3rd Panagsogod Chess Festival commence. Here's the summary of instructions and guidelines to our participants to ensure our tournament will run smoothly and efficiently.

- The 13-under and 17-under tournaments are FIDE - rated tournaments. You need to update your membership to National Chess Federation of the Philippines - NCFP before you can play in these categories.

- We noticed that some of the participants paid the registration fee but did not register online. Thus, they're not recorded in the player's list as of this time. In this regard, you need to present your receipt to our registration committee so we can add you to the list of players.

- The organizers can only provide the billeting area which is in Poblacion Elementary School. The participants are encouraged to bring their own beddings and toiletries.

- Do not leave your personal items unattended. The tournament organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to participants' personal belongings, valuables and property during the tournament.

- The participants are encouraged to practice CLAYGO (clean as you go). Trash bins and garbage bags will be setup in the billeting area and the tournament venue.

- Hot and cold drinking water will be provided in the tournament area but participants are encouraged to bring their own water containers.

- Souvenir items are available in the tournament venue and sold at a reasonable price.

ATTENTION!!!

Here are a few instructions and guidelines for our upcoming 3rd Panagsogod Chess Festival 2026.

- The online registration form will close tomorrow (June 25, 2026). Be sure to register through our online registration form (click the link below):

- On-site registration is strictly not allowed.

- For players/parents who will stay in the billeting area, please bring with you beddings and toiletries. The Organizer can provide the billeting area only. See attached location of the billeting area.

- Do not leave your personal items unattended. The tournament organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to participants' personal belongings, valuables and property during the tournament.

- As usual, we will practice CLAYGO in the tournament venue and billeting area. Help us keep the two areas clean.

- Our 13U and 17U Rapid Tournaments are FIDE - rated. Players who will play in these events need to update their membership or apply as new member to the National Chess Federation of the Philippines - NCFP.

All Sogoranons and SKCI members; aged 17 years old and below, please register on or before June 17, 2026. This is to allow the organizers ample time to process your membership to National Chess Federation of the Philippines - NCFP before our FIDE-rated tournament on June 27, 2026. You may coordinate with your SK Officials and any active SKCI members to facilitate your membership. Please give us your name and date of birth. Also, please prepare the following documents:

- school ID/birth certificate
- Recent ID picture (passport-size or digital photo)
- e-signature of the player (picture file)

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Good day everyone. The organizers of the 3rd Panagsogod Chess Festival are currently waiting for your registration. Your registration will help us organize better and give us an estimate on the number of players that will stay in the billeting area, no. of tables and chairs, etc. Presently, only a handful have registered to our online registration form.

In view of this, we decided cancel all on-site registration and will only consider online registered players. For Sogoranons and SKCI members can join for free but are also required to register early.

We strongly encouraged all participants to register to our online form on or before June 25, 2026…

To our Hylee Regidor and John David Coming,

Congratulations! We are incredibly proud of both of you.

This tournament was not easy. You played until the very last round, giving your best in every game. Even when you were tired and not feeling your best, you never stopped fighting. That determination, resilience, and love for the game inspire all of us.

Sometimes we forget that you are only 9 and 12 years old because of the courage and maturity you show every time you sit at the chessboard. The pressure and expectations placed on you are much greater than what most kids your age experience, yet you continue to face every challenge with bravery.

Remember, in chess and in life, losing is not failing. Every loss is a lesson. It teaches us humility, patience, perseverance, and the value of hard work. Many of the world’s greatest champions became great because they learned from their setbacks and came back stronger.

So keep your heads up, young champions, and be proud of yourselves. Win or lose, you have made your families, coaches, teammates, and the entire Sogod Chess Community proud.

Thank you for showing us what true courage looks like. Your journey is only beginning, and your best games are still ahead of you.

Keep learning. Keep smiling. Keep believing in yourselves.
