MORE THAN BASKETBALL: OUR SK PLAYERS’ JOURNEY 🏀🤍
This is not just a story about basketball.
Wala mi kahibalo nga along the way, daghan diay mi og makat-unan not only about basketball but also about support, sacrifice, disappointment, friendship and gratitude.
“Naka paniudto or naka snack na ba mi?”
“Naa bay masakyan ang tanan?”
“Naa bay naghulat ug nag support namo?”
And yes, there were moments when we felt like we were fighting for our team with very little support from the people we expected to be there.
When some people choose not to show up, there will always be others who will.
Sa among mga players ang kakulang nga among gibati napuno sa mga tawong wala gyud mipakyas.
To all the members of Gotocan Daku Basketball Club (GDBC), THANK YOU☺️🫶
To Dha Yhen Mamawaves and Roldan Nadlor from the bottom of our hearts salamat kaayo🥹🤍Salamat sa pag uban sa among mga dula.
But for our young players, those little things meant so much.
We know that behind every correction is your desire to make our players better and stronger.
To all GDBC officials and members salamat sa inyong support, time ug effort🥹🫶
To all our anonymous donors, salamat sa walay pagduha duha nga pagtabang. Ang inyong generosity nakatabang aron makasul ob og jersey ang among players, maka snack ug paniudto mi pero labaw pa ana nakahatag mo og feeling nga naa gyuy mga tawo nga nagtuo nila.
To our konse John Fel Office of the SK Federation President - Ozamiz City salamat sa paghatag kanamo og higayon nga mahimong kabahin ani nga liga. Salamat sa experience, memories ug lessons nga among madala.
And to everyone who supported our players in any way—whether through money, food, transportation, time, presence, prayers or simple words of encouragement SALAMAT KAAYO🥹🤍
Sa among mga SK players, we hope you realize how proud we are of you.
Wala ninyo sayanga ang inyong panahon, singot, kakapoy, sacrifices, wins, losses ug even the moments nga gusto na unta mo mo give up.
Because this journey was never just about winning.
It was about showing up.
It was about fighting together.
It was about learning.
It was about believing.
And most importantly, it was about discovering who would stay when things became difficult.
Maybe this chapter of our basketball journey has come to an end but the memories will stay.
And someday, when you look back at these days, we hope you won’t only remember the scores or the games.
We hope you remember the people who showed up for you.
The people who brought food when you were hungry.
The people who brought water when you were tired.
The people who made sure you had a ride home.
The people who stood beside you in the court.
The people who kept encouraging you when things were hard.
Because sometimes, the greatest victory is not the trophy you bring home but the people you meet and the lessons you carry with you.
And above all to our Almighty Jesus Christ THANK YOU. 🙏🏻🤍
Thank You, Lord, for giving our young players the strength to keep going even when things were difficult. Thank You for every opportunity, every protection, every answered prayer and even for the disappointments that taught us to be stronger.
When we felt that we were not enough, You reminded us that we were never alone.
Thank You for sending people who became instruments of Your love and support. Thank You for providing what we needed sometimes through the most unexpected people.
We may not have understood everything that happened along the way but we choose to trust that You have a purpose in every victory, every loss, every struggle and every lesson.
To God be all the glory. 🙏🏻
This was our journey.
More than basketball. More than a game.
This was a journey of dreams, sacrifice, disappointments, friendship, gratitude and hope.
And for everyone who stood with our SK players thank you for making them feel that they were never alone. 🏀🤍
OUR SK PLAYERS’ JOURNEY — FOREVER A MEMORY.
