The entire Philippine basketball community is in deep mourning. Six years ago, the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant shook the global basketball family to its core. Today, the passing of Rene Baterbonia 2.0 has dealt a second devastating blow that hits directly at home.

Every Filipino hooper, fan, and enthusiast has been shaken by this tragedy. Rene was a rising star, a Palarong Pambansa MVP with a bright future, who just wanted to play the game he loved and help his family. To lose a young life under these circumstances during a "team-building" activity is completely unacceptable. We do not just want to remember his talent; we want a transparent, honest investigation, and we want full accountability.

We stand as one basketball community, lifting our voices alongside his family. We will not let his name or his story be swept under the rug.
