FIRST FATHER'S DAY.
Over the past few months, my wife and I have been doing a lot of planning and preparation as we transition toward off-grid living. As exciting as it is, there are moments when doubt creeps in. Moments when I wonder if we're making the right decision. Moments when I ask myself if kakayanin ba talaga namin.
Pero ang galing kasi sa tuwing nakakaramdam ako ng uncertainty, God always points me back to how I father my son.
He has never promised to give us everything we want.
But He has promised to provide everything we need.
What a joy it is to be a father.
This Father's Day feels extra special because it has revealed a deeper relationship not only with my son and my wife, but also with God.
The more I learn to love my son, the more I understand the heart of the Father who has been loving me all along.
And the more I understand His love, the more I desire to become the best father I can be.
To all the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father figures, and men who choose every day to love, lead, provide, protect, and be present, Happy Father's Day.
Maybe you're carrying burdens no one sees.
Maybe you're making sacrifices that no one fully understands.
Maybe you're simply doing your best with what you have.
Keep showing up.
Your children may not understand everything you're doing today, but one day they will look back and realize that much of what they called "normal" was built on a father's quiet sacrifice.
May we continue becoming the kind of fathers our children can trust, our wives can lean on, and our Heavenly Father can be pleased with.
Happy Father's Day, dads.
It matters more than you know.
