SINGAPORE – The second edition of the Akira-Club Zoom Track & Field Carnival was held at Bishan Stadium last Saturday (Aug 16), with a total of 218 local athletes from 32 schools, organisations and clubs competing for honours.

Yung bukod tanging ako lang ang nasa Masters Category tapos lahat sila Under 20 at Under 18 🤦‍♂️😅

Masarap balikan ang mga alaala ng nakaraan. Yung tipong maiisip ko na lang bigla na nung panahong kasing-edad ko sila, mga panahong sobrang napaka-competitive ko pa. Yung tipong hindi talaga ako magpapatalo sa bawat laban kaya kahit na ensayo ay talagang hinuhusayan.

Kaya isa lang talaga naipayo ko sa mga batang ito kanina sa lahat ng mga katanungan nila. Train hard, train smart and always trust the process. Inaamin ko man sa sarili ko na hindi ako kagalingan. Madalas talunan ako nung mga panahong ako'y nagsisimula pa lang. Okay lang, tanggapin lang dahil lahat naman dumadaan dun. Ang mahalaga ay kung paano ka muling babangon at maipagpatuloy ang nasimulan. Kaya sa mga batang atleta ngayon, huwag niyong sayangin ang talentong ibinigay sa inyo ng Dios.

Sa edad kong ito nakakatalon pa ako. Kaya pasasalamat sa Dios ang tangi kong nasasambit. Sa Dios ang lahat ng kapurihan at kadakilaan magpakailanman! 🙏

Kaya naman isa pang kampay (coffee) para sa tagumpay ngayong araw na ito! ☕️

It's not about winning gold or how fast or far you can run, leap, or throw. It's all about having a good time and meeting new people. Being an athlete allows you to engage in all of these activities.

Thanks to James who is also in the LJ-Senior division. We're probably the only two Filipinos competing in the Alberta Indoor Track and Field Championships. Daghan salamat sa Jacket Bai!

Thank you to the officials who told me at least five times that I didn't look 36, that I didn't belong in the Masters group, and that I looked 25. 😍 It's incredible!

Thank you so much to the Calgary Spartans Track and Field Club for their unwavering support since the beginning of my journey in Canada! ❤️
