The House of Representatives is expected to begin its inquiry into the controversial Manila Bay Dolomite Beach project this November, according to Rep. Terry Ridon.

Ridon said the congressional review aims to determine whether the project was overpriced and to assess if it was truly necessary for national development.

“Was the dolomite beach project actually necessary? Particularly because it was never part of the NEDA masterplan for Manila Bay Reclamation,” he said.

The lawmaker emphasized that the investigation seeks to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of government infrastructure initiatives, especially those involving significant public funds.
